http://twoballoons.film The wave table constructed for Two Balloons measured 20ft in length/depth, 17ft in width, and the surface stood about 3.5ft high. It was engineered and constructed by Javan Ivey, an animator who has amazing problem solving skills. Our Art Director, Kathleen Chamberlin, found a way to force perspective using various plastic materials and a specialized painting technique while leading a team tasked with painting the 340 square feet of ocean surface. The push-rod and line mechanisms were then incrementally rotated frame-by-frame with a step motor. Director of Photography, Reijean Heringlake, lit and photographed the scenes. VFX supervisor, Adam C. Sager, tiled the footage to complete the ocean.
